LIFE-LONG football fan and Stannah Stairlift user Lucy Smith was given a unique present to mark the start of England's World Cup campaign.
To show her support for the team, her stairlift has been modified and now features the St George's Cross.
Mrs Smith, aged 80, was surprised by the new seat, which was fitted while she was out shopping.
She said: "I was gobsmacked: It's the first time I have ever had anything like this, so it's a lovely surprise.
Only one thing would make it better - to have my favourite player Peter Crouch alongside me!"
Mrs Smith, who lives in Corunna Main, planned to fly England flags from her car, but her husband Dan jokingly refused, saying she should know better.
However, family friends Alan and Jan Holloway, decided to help Mrs Smith get behind England's World Cup bid. Alan runs Mobility Seating Ltd in Whitchurch and supplies Stannah with some of their chair upholstery, so he decided to make the special seat covers.
He said: "We had the right seats in stock, so we drew up a concept and put it together. I'm pretty sure Lucy has the only St George's Cross stairlift in the world."
Lucy plans to watch all of the World Cup games, and is often joined by her great-nephew Joe Bolton, aged nine.
Lucy's husband, Dan, said: "The seat is great fun. She loves her football, and I think it's a healthy interest - but I'm starting to get a bit jealous of Peter Crouch!"
